These are just a few of many photos
taken while exploring Asia. The photo
to the left is that of a "Cormorant"
fisherman. This resourceful gentleman
uses the generations-old technique of
stocking his larder with a magnificent
bird called the Cormorant.

During one weekend trip to Yangshou and Quilin (located in Guangxi Province, China) we saw some of the most extraordinary landscapes. While exploring spectacular caves and breathtaking mountaintops we experienced the quiet beauty this country has to offer.

Yangshou has long been an inspiration to artists and poets alike. Moon Hill is a must see on your travels to Yangshou. The climb (all 800 steps) is worth the effort as you ascend upon the pinnacle and take in the views... And if you need some help there are plenty of local women willing (for a few yuan) to supply bottled water, soda or a gentle hand while you climb the steep slopes.

After a long day of hiking or biking, West Street (Xi Jie), is the place to be. There is a large expatriate population there and plenty of unique specialty stores. The restaurants offer food from all over the globe. You could easily feel as if you are in a sidewalk café in Europe, but as you look up at the roof tops and see the elegant architecture of Asia you are brought back to the pleasure of your reality.

Please stop back as we add to our "Asian Experience" journal. There is so much we would like to share!
