Owning a piece of China's history brings a responsibility for maintaining its beauty.
Taking good care of your furniture will not only extend its already long life, but will also enhance its value. |

Cleaning: |
| |
• |
Do not use furniture polish or other household
cleaners
on your
furniture. |
• |
Dust with a soft dry cloth |
• |
Once or twice a year wax your wooden furniture with a
polish containing bees wax and carnauba wax. Apply
sparingly and buff off with a soft dry cloth. (special care
should be taken with Lacquer pieces). |
| |
Handling: |
| |
• |
Never drag your furniture to move it; this places stress
on the legs. Always lift your furniture, grasping the sturdiest
part. |
• |
Always use coasters to protect the surface from heat and water
or alcohol spills. |
• |
Do not place heavy items on your furniture that may leave marks or scratches on the surface. |
• |
Avoid placing your furniture in areas with extreme temperature
changes. Rapid temperature changes can cause warping in the
wood. |
• |
Do not place your furniture in direct sunlight, this can cause
the wood to warp or shrink as well as create color changes in
the wood. |
• |
Do not place your furniture near a fireplace or other heat
source. |
• |
The ideal temperature for your furniture is between 60-80
degrees Fahrenheit. |
| |
With all this said, the most important thing is that you treat
your treasures with respect. They will bring you many years of
enjoyment. |
